'Fog's Rolling In'

This painting was another demo I started with the Nevada Watercolor Society.I wanted to suggest the quiet drama of a coastal morning as fog drifts inland from the sea. The stairway leading up to the lighthouse invites the viewer into the scene. The challenge was to completely re-design the foreground from what was actually there.

½ sheet watercolor painting (20" x 27" or vice versa) on Arches 140 LB rough watercolor paper. Ships flat, not rolled with plain white mat.
