Brixham Impressions - ½ Sheet Original Watercolor

Brixham Harbour in Devon, England was one of our favorite places to visit, paint and shop when we taught workshops there. I didn’t want to paint a picture of the harbor, but instead wanted to catch the elusive quality of the pattern of buildings that seemed to have been flung across the docks, colliding as they bounced up the surrounding hills. Waves would set the boats tilting, and the masts and their rigging lines would dance across the water. 

½ sheet watercolor painting (20" x 27" or vice versa) on Arches 140 LB rough watercolor paper. Ships flat, not rolled with plain white mat.
