This weathered mining structure stands as a remnant of an era when men and machinery drilled deep into the earth , fueling the growth of towns and fortunes alike.   it now rests in quiet decline, its worn timbers and rusted forms bearing witness to the dreams that drove the enterprise.
For me this is a visual metaphor of the personal search for value and meaning in our lives.
